I posted earlier about having a tacho signal that is erratic,
i cant find the thread for some reason, but no matter.

What i have is in Studio and on the unit, the tacho signal is generally smooth, but i get high spikes to 12000rpm for a V8!!!

Also in studio it shows the spike and also alot of negative spikes,

I have hooked up to the neg coil, direct method

Also it shows the spikes in the new version as well.

Any ideas?

Mark

There is probably some "kickback" on the coil input that is a long-enough pulse that it is being interpreted as another pulse by the GPX.

Can you, when you have a chance, send the gpstudio.dat or xtstudio.dat file to support@xtracing.com and I will take a look at it -- it might help.

We've tested a few types of filtering so far but we are not happy with the results. We will keep working on it as time permits.
